KARABAGH BLOSSOM RUG, Southwest Caucasian
3' 8" x 5' 8"
(Decorative) This quite innovative rug is a spirited tribal interpretation of a European-inspired motif called Guli Farang, or "foreign flower.” In sharp contrast to traditional Caucasian designs, which are generally the most geometric of all rug types, here the weaver used a very florid and curvilinear pattern. Part of the charm of this composition is the varied spacing of the large cabbage roses on a partly visible, deconstructed lattice. The completely original main border design of scrolling vinery graciously mirrors the scale and drawing style of the field. Prized tones of cornflower blue and saffron yellow add immeasurably to the palette. (INQUIRE ABOUT THIS RUG AT CLAREMONT 2, 1-800-883-1815) Learn About This Rug Type
