With its rich natural hues and quite hard-to-find narrow width, this 140-year-old antique runner from the mountainous Azerbaijan region of Northwest Persia is certain to attract rapt attention. A time softened naturally dyed patina lends added depth to the latticework design, where deep indigo, aubergine, azure and carnelian tones alternate with soft ivory accents. Finely drawn, joyfully abstracted vinery creates a delicate, stylized meander within the glowing ivory border. This unique treasure comes to us in unusually good condition, especially considering its substantial age.
