This extremely well preserved Caucasian Gendje offers a delightfully detailed tribal 'Boteh' ("Seed of Life") pattern throughout the diagonal stripes in a range of very rarely seen colors. One of the most rare colors to see in the natural dye palette is true purple, called Tyrian purple produced from sea mussels. Note the compelling palette of this prized purple, masterfully combined with a softened saffron yellow, shades of pumpkin, an uncommon shade of burgundy red and contrasting midnight blue.
