Caucasian Kuba
4ft 6in x 7ft 5in
Late 19th Century
Even among the best antique Caucasians, very seldom found are the mastery of color and the highly individualized detail at the level seen in this singular Kuba. An unusual, H-shaped teal green field is populated by three geometric medallions, likely borrowed from those of Fachralo Kazaks, and a densely scattered array of vestigial boteh forms. Mesmerizing borders, liberally interspersed with luminous ivory, brightening and further enlivening the composition. (Inquire about this rug to Claremont II, 1-800-883-1815)
