We term the antique carpets we offer "art carpets", because virtually all of the pieces in our collection date from the early 19th century to the turn of the 20th century, known as the "Second Golden Age of Persian Weaving". During this period, the finest pieces were still individually commissioned as the inspired visual expressions of their weavers, not merely as decorative accessories.

Claremont carpets are characteristically preserved in exceptional condition relative to their very significant age. Any necessary restoration has been performed with great skill by the members of our highly experienced restoration department.
