The Intercontinental Collection

Final group of new rugs & museum-like format for an enhanced viewing experience

This very special event features art-level rugs gathered over five generations by an art-loving family and displayed in four residences on three continents. Since day one of its opening in early April, the Collection has received tremendous response, and 80% of this incredibly diverse group of over 200 rugs has now been placed.

This web gallery shows the 42 remaining pieces, amply supplemented by a newly arrived final group that the family offered us. Happily, this gives you a new opportunity to be among the first to choose from the Collection pieces. CLICK HERE TO ENTER COLLECTION GALLERY.

This new cache includes a stockpile of precious 19th century Caucasian rugs that the family stored for decades in a rug vault in their Brazilian home. Collectible tribal rugs from the high Caucasus Mountains have recently received enormous interest among investors, as reported in “The Rug Market Takes Flight,” The Wall Street Journal (6/18/10). In a new feature, we have also included an extended series of rare rugs that have been sold from this on-line Collection gallery since the opening of this event.
