It is adorned with rich iconography and piercing, naturally brewed jewel colors, its stylized apotropaic pattern paying homage to the forces of the universe and natural world that inspired them. Groves of' Tree of Life' motifs surround octagonal emblems of the 'Wheel of Life' aligned in the central elaborate keyhole-shaped center. They sprout latch-hook devices that can also be read as representing the concept of the legendary serpentine dragon's energy, which so captivated the rug-weaving world borrowed from the Far East. Diagonally louvered, striped triangular amulets engage each other along the vertical perimeter. This vivified field is further sprinkled with blossom clusters and a weaver's comb in the upper left corner for good measure. The borders are the result of a confident and imaginative artist with the outer band's sprouting boteh seed meandering on crimson vinery on a walnut ground, which is unique and eye-catching. This striking piece is further graced by heavier pile and can function as a prized part of a collection and a memorable accent in the home.
