(High-Collectible) Woven in the Caucasian region closest to Persia on the edge of the Caspian Sea, this glorious tribal rug is an early representative of the elite Caucasian Talish style, known for its distinctive narrow, often unadorned fields. Here is one such piece in rich shades of pure indigo. Its purposeful color shifts create the effect of sunlight dappling the gently rippled surface of a shimmering sacred pool. A single errant blossom drifts toward the center, accompanied by two esoteric designs spontaneously introduced by a cheeky weaver.
