It is extraordinarily rare to see this format expressed as three vertically aligned trees and in such an orderly architectural rendering. Every form is crisply expressed across richly dyed backgrounds of hand-brewed Kazak color, notably the sumptuous, finely textured garnet red field, luminous Egyptian blue outer border, and precious spruce greens found throughout. Flanking the multi-colored, sharply etched calyx main border, glowing reciprocal crenellations are buttressed by tertiary bands of the S-shaped cloudband device for extra security of the sacred precinct within the field. A splendid representative of the vigorous high mountain Kazak weaving tradition, this irresistibly enchanting piece embodies a significant aspect of the tribal cosmology and symbology inherited by the Caucasian peoples.
