(Connoisseur-Caliber) Minimalist design Kazaks such as this piece are hard-to-find. Also presenting over 6x8 dimensions, a rare size for a tribal rug, it is large enough to anchor an entire space. Evoking a surprisingly contemporary atmosphere in exotic hues including grass, fern and mossy greens, walnut, dark teal, dandelion, and canary yellow, every nuance in this awesome geometric piece contributes to its intended central impact. The deep greenish-blue in the innermost border that shifts into a mossy green near the top is one of many endearing nuances. Dated 1904 in the lower right field, this is a tour-de-force example from the end of the centuries-old, pre-workshop tradition of Caucasian weaving.
