(High-Collectible)
("New Arrivals Gallery") The Karachov sub-style is known for the synchronicity of their enrapturing regal visage with a more whimsical, improvised aesthetic. The juxtaposition of the bold octagonal medallion to its painstakingly checkered surround is particularly enchanting. With all hues shimmering from a deep patina, the richly saturated tones of the diamond sprinkled field add to the clarity of archetypal geometric motifs such as Stars of Wisdom, double ram’s horns, and other age-old sacred forms. The implied symmetry is ingeniously energized by the reality of spontaneous drawing and the asymmetrical placement of motifs from a truly unique mountain weaving tradition. The wonderfully naive cobalt border features the oak leaf and calyx design vertically embellished with abstract blossoms, diamonds, and tiny cloudbands while sparsely adorned in the horizontal bands. This makes for a gentle tension and resolution that further animates the composition.
