(High-Collectible) ("Best-of-the-Best Sold in 2017") With rarity and tremendous artistic magnitude, this rug emerges from a small group that loosely interpreted the age-old Harshang design in a particularly tribal manner. At over-140 years old, this Shirvan rug possesses a consummate level of fluency and whimsical creativity even among others in this elevated style. On the aged ivory field, its greatly enlarged interpretation of the ancient Harshang design is incredibly striking, towering over the traditional split palmette, charming tiny horse and tree motifs. A Kufic main border is quite spacious and not at all static, which speaks to its early provenance. Learn About This Rug Type
