(High-Collectible)
("New Arrivals Gallery") Dated 1270 AH (corresponding to 1852 AD), this extremely early, consummate quality Shirvan Prayer Rug in outstanding condition and is incredibly finely knotted. It reveals constant, inspired innovation during the weaving process, attributes that ensure intense interest from mature collectors and lovers of exquisite beauty. The design is a consummate, iconic iteration of every one of this sub-styles most cherished features. Across this nearly square rug, an all-over lattice design holds an intriguing, delightfully varied group of delicate flowers. Spaces above the arch at the top of the field are intentionally compressed, holding lightning-like zig-zags, ascending shrubs, and calligraphy. The mesmerizing pattern of the rug's field becomes dramatically lightened from the margin of open space along the left and right vertical edges.
