(High-Collectible) One of the distinctly Seichur Kuba rug styles, this quite early, enchanting example is an exciting offering, especially significantly for its saffron yellow field color, much more variegated drawing of the field elements, and a beautifully depiction of the eagle’s head border. Never seen in later pieces, there is a strong improvisational quality here, with secondary elements that skillfully interrupt the order of the repeated striped “flower” motif without unbalancing it. This blossom design clearly predates a later alteration into the cabbage rose or “Guli Farang” pattern that became popular at the end of the 19th century. We are very pleased to offer this high collectible, significant tribal rug that is preserved in exceedingly good condition. Learn About This Rug Type
