The highly creative Caucasian weavers delighted in sudden color shifts. This endearing aesthetic appears throughout this noble Talish, in the flowers of the lower portion of the ivory main or the surprising change at the top of the field where geometricised flowers give way to ‘Stars of Wisdom’ imbedded in octagons. Of great interest is the unusual aubergine ground color, which is perfectly accented with soft shades of coral, gold and very rare purple tones.
