(Connoisseur-Caliber) This superb quality antique Indian Amritsar rug’s entirely singular, rarefied palette brings together deeply desired colors of sandstone, beige, lavender, claret and taupe that are virtually never encountered, much less in the same carpet. These layers of warm, entrancing earth tone hues animate an allover lattice design of tremendous delicacy that is surprisingly contemporary. Each line of this superb 19th century court carpet appears to be individually drawn by hand, bringing a a serenity and impressionistic, fluid quality to its myriad border designs. At 150 years old this antique Oriental rug is still in excellent condition.
