Its visionary field pattern constantly transforms itself, starting with abstracted blossoming plants at the bottom, evolving into serrated-edged sunflowers, diamonds and tiny blossoms, stems laden with grapes, and this is only the first half of the field! Ripples in the camelhair natural tones add tremendous enrichment to its ambiance, serenely silhouetting the warm pumpkin, tan, mocha, and cornflower blue that define the pattern. Belying its rustic origins, this carpet’s refinement can easily be appreciated through viewing the clearly drawn, exotic main border sequence. Other similar published specimens of this traditional honeycomb and checkerboard pairing are dated circa 1800. Learn About This Rug Type
