Twitter Instagram Facebook Pinterest(High-Collectible) ("Best-of-its-Type Sold in 2020”) Exemplifying one of the most widely sought-after subgroups of the highly treasured Turkish rugs woven at the first part of the 19th century, this small niche rug is magnificent. With its great age of over two centuries and profoundly harmonious, elemental creativity, this piece preserves a virtually lost artistic heritage of brilliantly nuanced, potent color and striking magnetic symbolism. Within a narrow, understated reserve, the luminous antique ivory ground above the mihrab greatly enhances playfully displayed geometric motifs. The lower delightfully abrashed section of pale aquamarine is animated only by its rhythmic color striation, two naive small blossoms that quietly define the centerline, and a pinpoint diamond crenellated inner border that adorns the edges. The striking saffron main border of washed auberginie eight-pointed stars separated by lively persimmon-toned pairs of pinwheel is an absolute show-stopper! Learn About This Rug Type
