(High-Collectible) This exemplary 175-year-old Bakshaish carpet, in a very seldom-found, virtually square format, presents a uniquely envisioned and masterfully accomplished geometric carpet. Made enrapturing by its effusive chromatic palette and enigmatic overscale motifs, this mesmerizing piece, in excellent, heavier pile condition, exemplifies both the folk art drawing and imaginative overall patterning of this cherished style. A hallmark of the prized Bakshaish dye masterwork, richly striated shades in its radiant cerulean blue field are skillfully integrated, creating a three-dimensional backdrop. A profusely ornamented and ordered series of borders patterns offer a controlled, energetic counterpoint to the ground's effusive activity.
