(High-Collectible)
("New Arrivals Gallery") This is a highly collectible, exceptionally early Bakshaish wonderpiece - a very early representative of the intensely sought-after Bakshaish style. It is the artist's playful depiction of a spring meadow literally bursting with blossoms, each with its own individual characteristics, here presented as though it were a blossom-filled sky. The colors are buoyant and luminous with beautiful mahogany tones, expertly collocated with seafoam and pale jungle green, maize, and bright ivory notes. A gradually striated backdrop of clouded azure blue contributes to the surprise and whimsy of this extraordinary piece. Its cubistic border pattern of rosettes, oak leaves, and dice-like florets is spontaneously playful, fun, and, most importantly, an ideal foil to the field composition, like a fine art painter who handmade their own frame to accompany their work. Corridor carpets from Bakshaish are rarely found, and this one has retained a floor-worthy condition.
