(High-Decorative) ("New Arrivals Gallery") Bijars have long been prized for their extreme longevity, crystal-clear, softly stylised designs, rendered in rich saturated, naturally dyed jewel tones. The combination of stunning clarity and thick, heavy pile is made possible by the unique weaving techniques used only in Bijar, resulting in a density that makes the pile stand nearly vertical, yielding impressive clarity. In this captivating piece, the classical Harshang design fills the field with an array of complex blossoms in a range of scales that instill a visceral sense of depth. The luminous shades of scarlet, fuchsia, soft peach, and scintillating cerulean blues leap off the galaxy blue background. The main border of vivid scarlet showcases alternating blossoms and palmettes on a vine in delightful contrast to the field design. Flanking this are two cerulean meander borders of markedly different proportions, with the narrower inner band intriguingly enhancing the expansiveness of the field. Preserved in stunning condition at 100 years old, this enchanting rug will make a daily visual treat in a notable small space.
