Northwest Persian Antique Rug

(High-Decorative) Bijars are known as the “Iron Rugs of Persia” due to their woolen double-weft construction, which originated and was historically nurtured by the predominantly Kurdish population living in and around the town of Bijar. This piece offers a festive spirit and charm that will inevitably spread throughout the home from wherever it is placed. The pattern is derived from a revered Persian weaving tradition called "Guli Farang," which incorporates a European cabbage rose motif into a luscious allover design. Set within a delicately textured indigo reserve, dextrously applied dramatic color juxtapositions animate this rug with positive energy.
