(High-Decorative)
The town of Bijar is famous for its carpets that often last a century longer than other styles. Nicknamed “The Iron Rug of Persia”, most Bijars feature an extremely durable construction, which is the result of its maker tightly compacting the foundation through the repeated strong strokes of her weaving comb before adding the next weft threads. Needless to say, Bijar runners are perfect for a heavily trafficked passageway. At some 120 years old, this casually elegant 16ft-long runner glistens with lanolin-rich wool. It offers striking midnight indigo on sapphire blue color combination, that is both sumptuous and understated. Its secondary colors of canary yellow, salmon, rust, teal green, and undyed ivory breathe new life into its age-old, all-over Herati pattern.
