Twitter Instagram Facebook Pinterest(High-Collectible) ("Best-of-the-Best Sold in 2018") In the first half of the 19th century, Ferahan Sarouk was one of only a few Persian town weaving centers that possessed weavers with the great dexterity and sufficient wealth necessary to take on a palace-size commission such as this. Much technical and design experience was needed to accomplish this monumental weaving, such as the perfect proportion of the centerpiece with the graceful corners and ample borders. Executed in a remarkably fine weave for a palace-size carpet, this breathtaking piece juxtaposes a massive, elongated center medallion with petite point detailing of the multitude of charming Sarouk-style blossoms in its field.
