Well-placed pairs of flowering ‘Trees of Life’ and interstitially dispersed Zoroastrian S-glyphs continue the spontaneity expressed throughout this runner. Its expertly conceived palette of resonant, rainbow-like natural hues enlivens this rug with profound visual energy, rife with dramatic color shifts and peripatetic flourishes of variegated shades throughout. The geometric border based on the eons-old ashik design exhibits a sense of naive creativity along the length of this exuberant, nearly 150-year-old piece.
