(Connoisseur-Caliber) ("New Arrivals Gallery") This quietly resplendent palace-sized 19th-century Persian Court carpet from the renowned weaving group known as Laver Kirman is most notable for the virtually flawless artistic and technical execution of its court-inspired design. Created as a labor of love across lifetimes of weaving proficiency, it offers glowing luminosity across its surface and a graceful, flowing pattern of continuous flowering boughs and vinery, flowing from an exquisite "rose window” shamsa medallion. Along with verdant boteh (Seeds of Life), cypress and weeping willow tree motifs, a profusion of individually rendered botanical species are each in full bloom — invoking hues of gentle celadons, apricot, rosy quartz, and garnet accent tones against a midnight cobalt ground. The sense of fluid motion continues in the equally intricate borders, where shapely willow trees accompany lozenge cartouches bearing kufic inscriptions that are in bloom. Even the adjacent minor bands feature diminutive willows, carrying on the withy-branched theme, along with dancing starflowers. Awe-inspiring artistry is accompanied by extremely good condition overall.
