(High-Decorative) ("New Arrivals Gallery")
Antique Persian Malayers are a perennial favorite for their enchanting stylized interpretation of formal classical Persian patterns. In this whimsical runner, a series of gracefully drawn grand Shah Abbas palmettes dominates the field, supported by constantly changing arrangements of peonies. The main border also features these traditional palmettes on a meandering vine, while the flanking secondary meander borders replace flowerheads with tribal Stars of Wisdom. The vibrancy of the saturated color palette is enhanced by the lustrous, heavy pile. Deep cosmic blue grounds the composition, while secondary hues of cobalt blue, ochre, and sky blue energize it. Hints of organically placed brushstrokes of abrash emulate beams of sunlight, adding a magical visual quality.
