(High-Decorative) A one-of-a-kind goldenrod border encloses an innovative, expressive design in this striking Northwest Persian runner from the late 19th century. Six large, highly original medallions share the reserve with a diversity of diminutive rosettes and enigmatic tribal forms, creating a continually engaging visual fabric. Scrolling border motifs, each individually rendered with painstaking detail, demonstrate unmistakably the hand of a highly talented, deeply creative weaver. At over a century of age, this tribal runner is remarkably in virtually perfect condition.
