(High-Decorative) ("New Arrivals Gallery")
This rare-to-find, petite, room-sized 125-year-old Senneh, with its mesmerizing all-over herati design, a universal symbol of quality, offers a rich textural harmony without visual overstimulation, allowing this well-preserved piece to serve as a sophisticated anchor for a refined setting, offering intricate detail that remains legible and calm while subtly and fundamentally transforming a refined space. The precision and tightness of weave rivals that of major city weaving centers. The field of rosettes and bent leaves is infused with timeless geometry, reflecting the Kurdish weavers’ traditional use of the symmetrical Turkish knot, which lends itself to angularity and not curves. The riveting main border, an abstract, cartoon-like rendition of the curvilinear, royal Shah Abbas rosette-and-meandering-vine motif, is utterly charming in its graphic simplicity while artfully framing the seemingly endless field of abundant, life-affirming blossoms.
