(High-Decorative)
The Shahsavan tribe was the nomads of the Azerbaijan region where Persian Serapi and Bakshaish village rugs were made. The mind of this clever 19th century carpet weaver was not at all limited by the simplicity of her nomadic, tribal lifestyle, instead producing a one-of-a-kind, fun loving design we have never seen before. Throughout, antique Caucasian carpet designs are used in their own unique way. Two rows of “Memling guls” are divided by a captivating abstract tree. The Oriental rug's Dragon border is equally minimalist and iconic. In addition to the fine marine blues and madder reds seen here that traditional to nomadic tribal rugs, this carpet's intensely creative weaver also obtained a wealth of goldenrod, quava, caramel and pistachio tones enhance its “joie de vivre”.
