(“NEW ACQUISITION") This spirited and captivating antique Persian Karaja village rug offers a fascinating geometricised design, blending tribal and village elements. Seldom seen in this style are the over-scale lapis leaves which occupy each corner in juxtaposition to the warm madder dyed carnelian ground. Each is surrounded by a panoply of kaleidoscopic stylized floral motifs in a delightful range of scale. These elements, when combined with the pair of luminous aqua green medallions, lend a harmonic balance to the central sunburst medallion. This stunning Karaja rug extremely finely woven and in superb condition for an over century-old Persian village rug. (INQUIRE ABOUT THIS RUG AT CLAREMONT 2, 1-800-883-1815)
