Part of a long courtly tradition, this magnificent rug is graced by an exquisite mastery of tapestry drawing and splendidly luminous rich tones. In the border are additional mythological zoomorphic forms camouflaged among the foliage between large sunburst flowerheads. It comes to us in immaculate condition at 130-years of age.
