The ultra soft Manchester wool enhances this striking, potently colored Kashan. The field is an elaborate display of exquisitely drawn floral bouquets, the result of unusually fine knotting, set on a visually dazzling shade of magenta-red. The border demonstrates the weavers' virtuosity, ornamented with detailed minarets, pineapples, teapots and dancing foliage. After 90 years this carpet remains in excellent condition.
