Area-size Serapi weavings were very seldom produced and have become tremendously scarce. This serene, slightly abstract version of a classical Serapi pattern of this type married the past and present simultaneously. The multi-layered central flower medallion features a lotus at its core, with gold-encased pendants projecting into the fiery red reserve. Joyfully animated flowering vines encircle the centerpiece. The ivory corner spandrels exhibit fiery seed-like forms, each spontaneously differing in design and dimensions. A bold traditional border pattern of tumbling winged palmettes is visually visceral due to the juxtaposition of color that makes each shape really pop.
