(Connoisseur-Caliber) ("New Arrivals Gallery") This sparkling Serapi immediately draws the viewer in with the captivating, joyfully energetic atmosphere of its motifs. Enigmatic figural flowers dance in the field among spinning pinwheel florets, trigonometric clusters, shapely abstract chrysanthemums, and elemental dragon-fueled cloudbands. A stepped cruciform medallion sports shimmering jewel pendants aligned to the four cardinal directions at the center of this festive drama. All elements are suspended over a brilliant carnelian ground that has been given a superb dimensional quality and sense of depth through the abrash technique of a master weaver. A golden primary border of camel’s hair as a backdrop displays layered rosettes, oak leaves, and split palmettes, paralleled by luminous azure minor bands. Seldom found 5x7 dimensions, and luxe heavier pile condition, compound the desirability of this immensely expressive Serapi tenfold.
