(Connoisseur-Caliber)
One of the most evocative qualities of rarely seen antique Tehrans such as this stunning example is their exceptionally fine weave that enabled the artist-weavers to express minute details as though using a paintbrush. Elaborating one of Tehran’s signature designs that showcases this style’s mind-boggling tour-de-force precision, this heavy-pile rug offers a rare deep rose red, subtly striated field, which is home to seventy-two peacock blue vase motifs that brim with tea roses and marigolds. This exactitude surprisingly includes intentional partial vases at the top, a long-held traditional technique meant to indicate the pattern expands infinitely beyond the border. Its pinpoint main border contains an incredibly detailed vine meander where each boteh, or "Seed of Life", contains a miniature Tree of Life within. This luxurious piece remains in very good condition.
