(High-Collectible-Plus) (One of 70 "Best-of-Their-Type Rugs" Sold in 2025) This spectacular, one-in-the-world Bakshaish carpet from the masters of northwest Persian village weaving resounds with a joyfully archetypal design that marries age-old motifs and the nomadic camelhair tradition with an immensely coveted chromatic scheme. The scale and spaciousness of the composition are breathtaking! A modified diamond medallion in vivid cinnabar hovers over a warm, finely rippled, multi-hued camelhair reserve. Luminous anchor pendants that hang like lanterns by a blossom-adorned band, bearing wonderfully sculpted lotus flowerheads. Bifurcated versions are engaged with the vertical edges, alluding to the tantalizing concept that a far-reaching version of the pattern exists beyond the frame. Grand, cerulean spandrels enclose smaller-scale lotus, radial rosettes, tiny cloudbands, and geometricized flowers reduced to their most elemental forms.Boasting superb condition, this folkloric pièce de résistance is essentially in a league of its own.
