(High-Collectible)
("New Arrivals Gallery") TA+G Another impressive achievement from the masters of folkloric ambiance, this short Bakshaish Camelhair runner offers a pattern of repeating swirling dragons that is quite unlike any other we have encountered in Northwest Persian runners. With skillful attention, a repeated design is constantly refreshed by small changes in size and scale of each motif brought further to life with frequent color shifts. Present are vestiges of certain fascinating and unique Caucasian influences, particularly the curling dragons often found in Bidjov Shirvans and the distinctively stylized touch of the frequently used but never exactly duplicated Bakshaish rosette and oak leaf main border. Adding to the idiosyncratic tribal appeal, a single pair of animals, perhaps lambs or lions, appear near the uppermost edge of the field. A rhythmically striated undyed camelhair ground provides significant depth to the composition.
