This exceptionally nuanced 19th-century Persian village rug combines this extreme rarity of size with incredible artistic innovation, exemplified by a luminous sapphire blue latticework that showcases an exquisite, wide-ranging color palette. Outstanding craftsmanship is visible in its extremely fine weave and closely cut pile that gives a luxuriant, glass-like sheen to the surface. For a 150-year-old runner, its heavier pile condition is extremely rarely seen and tremendously prized.
