(High-Collectible) ("Best-of-its-Type Sold in 2019”) This is an astonishingly original world-class Bakshaish, a masterful, mid-19th century departure from the classical ”Tree of Life” motif, revealing a level of creativity that is a great privilege to look upon. In a way, description is not needed, the miracle of its creation is captured, the inspiration of its unfettered expression is easily felt. The remarkable variety of tree “types” of varying sizes and shapes appears to rhythmically compress and expand; minute horses and other tribal motifs await discovery. Most impressively, the entire panoply coexists in remarkable harmony. A wide-ranging palette of closely wrought hues from red, green, brown, and camel tones underpins the masterful drawing. The border is a very abstracted Bakshaish design of alternating daffodils and rosettes.
