(High-Collectible-Plus) (One of 70 "Best-of-Their-Type Rugs" Sold in 2025) The town of Dorasht has been an acclaimed weaving center since the Middle Ages, known for its highly innovative, superb-quality weaving. In this thoroughly engaging, individualistic representative, the splendor of the natural world and an almost nirvanic state are reflected. Its enchanting pattern portrays luminous cypresses, palmettes, and cloudbands that are inundated by a cascade of blossoms that pour over the arboreal display across an ivory field — rarely seen in Dorasht weavings. It's extremely fine knot-work allows for pinpoint precision in shaping the exquisite motifs found here. The triumphant mastery of color also imbues this supremely accomplished piece, where Prussian blue, mulberry, sandstone, sparkling cornflower, champagne, and hints of mint green create a distinctive polyphony of rare hues.
