(High-Collectible-Plus) (One of 70 "Best-of-Their-Type Rugs" Sold in 2025) Early 19th-century Ferahans are incredibly uncommon and highly coveted for their exceptional craftsmanship and virtually unmatched precision. Within an extremely rarely seen burnished electrum field, a highly original allover pattern is formed from expressive, unique diagonally scrolling garlands, each surrounded by an assortment of ever-changing floral chains, cuirass-like forms, levitating blossoms, and stylized boteh (symbolic sprouting 'Seeds of Life'). Only through careful, up-close study can the viewer get a sense of the spontaneous variations that develop across the field. These motifs are carefully aligned along diagonal, vertical, and horizontal rows, creating balance in all directions. This equilibrium is maintained even as the entire design appears to be in motion suggesting a continuation into the infinite beyond a series of narrow borders rendered with pinpoint precision and lush detail. Glowing rare tones bring delicacy and tremendous visual interest to this extraordinarily atypical rug.
