(High-Collectible-Plus) (One of 70 "Best-of-Their-Type Rugs" Sold in 2025) This highly creative masterpiece is woven at the height of the Ferahan tradition's brilliance. Its tremendously innovative architectural column design is centered around a medallion resembling a cathedral rose window, and is an astonishing visual extravaganza. Elaborate towering structures dominate the vertical perimeters of the gently textured ivory field built of palmettes, plinths, pedestals, and shapely vase forms. This animated “hanging garden” fantasia is meant to be a source of perpetual discovery and everlasting enjoyment, with many uncommon color shades illuminating each masterfully executed motif. Bold undulating vinery incandesces against a rich burgundy border. An extraordinarily fine weave, closely shorn pile, and superb wool quality combine to give even the smallest motif crystal clarity.
