(High-Collectible) ("New Arrivals Gallery") A collector's piece of tremendous artistic magnitude and substantial age, this stunning pictorial rug presents the classically idealized version of the prized “Vase Rug” design, with arresting, elegant artistry, harmonious natural palette, and exquisite balance. Sheltered beneath a scrolling mihrab arch held aloft by slender segmented columns, a dazzling diversity of individually drawn palmettes, blossoms, and elegantly stylized fronds spring forth from an exceptionally finely rendered, richly ornamented vessel. Both cool and warm colors were employed by a deft painterly hand in a prodigious display of chiaroscuro that enlivens and animates every element. With its gorgeous complexity, which would draw the eye time and again, this profoundly memorable Persian art rug would be especially suitable for display on the wall or in front of a threshold, like an ancient mosaic. Happily, it remains in extremely fine condition after being held in a collection for a number of decades.
