Woven with the highest level of Tabriz craftsmanship and a penchant subdued hues that later in the century become formalized under the auspices of Hadji Jallili’s workshop, this carpet is a beguiling masterpiece of absolute grace. Its classical elongated center medallion supported by the four delicately expressed spandrels on an open field pattern expresses a profound elegance. This ambiance is augmented by consummate exploration of nuanced, exquisitely softened colors, including the subtlest jade, cinnamon and taupe, that are never seen in other Persian carpet styles.
