(High-Collectible-Plus) (One of 70 "Best-of-Their-Type Rugs" Sold in 2025) Extraordinarily graceful and achingly beautiful, this 175-year-old rug is attributed to the workshop of the renowned carpet designer Hadji Jallili, whose woven artifacts are testaments to his reputation as a maestro. This exceptional vase design weaving showcases a combination of striking elegance and exceedingly fine craftsmanship. A delicate yet authoritative 'Tree of Life’ ascends from a festooned amphora, its slender trunk supporting lithe, arching branches in an elaborate constellation of detailed blossoms and feathery leaves. Flanking the ornate central vase are a pair of smaller urns with nascent saplings nurtured by the larger tree. Two refined cypresses flank the primary tree, also emerging from shapely vessels, partially eclipsed by the border suite. The scalloped spandrels above exhibit exquisitely rendered boughs adorned with blossoms and leaves on a soft golden ground. The usage of dark indigo accents in the main border leaves the illusion of palmettes advancing and receding in the ether.
