HERIZ, Northwest Persian
2' 11" x 6' 3" Circa 1910 Price: $4,800
(High-Decorative)
This seldom found mat-sized rug from the weaving village of Heriz in the mountains of Persian Azerbaijan features an imaginative graphic design joyfully filled with time-matured color. Naturally dyed tones, such as goldenrod, soft coral, burnt umber and robin’s egg blue electrify the geometricized blossoms and oak leaves, while the color shifts known as abrash are used with exceptional élan. At over 120 years of age, this absolutely charming antique Persian rug is in primarily heavy pile condition and would elevate any smaller space.
