(Connoisseur-Caliber) ("New Arrivals Gallery") Kermanshah carpets of substantial age are prized by connoisseurs for their unique and exquisite fusion of French pastel color preferences and Persian design aesthetics. This unique union resulted in some of Persia's finest weavings. This virtuoso Kermanshah offers a sophisticated earth-toned palette of sandstone, sienna, blackish indigo blue, and ruby red. The filigree-like design is impressive in its extraordinary detail and clarity. Complex medallions in various styles, and in a mesmerizing range of scale, sweep across the field of this rare oversized carpet. Among this botanical abundance are cypress trees, symbolic of Paradise, and ribbon-like Cloud bands, representing movement, heaven, and auspicious continuity. To the delight of connoisseurs, the background is not uniform. Instead, it exhibits constant change and is embellished with a continuous, very subtle wave-like shift in the ground color, using muted, natural shades inspired by the weavers' landscape, including beige, sandstone, khaki, and pale brown. Finally, a deft use of dark, highly contrasting hues of blackish blues and ruby reds instills an enchanting depth to this fantastical, deeply harmonious composition.
