(Connoisseur-Caliber) (Featured in catalog Vol. 29, No. 1, p.14-15) A kaleidoscopic collection of rarely-seen early naturally dyed colors awaits the enraptured viewer of this oversize antique Laver Kirman oriental carpet of unusually generous width. With an artistic magnitude equal to its grand dimensions, its visual program encompasses a surprising range of jewel-like hues, including deeply time-softened burgundy, teal, garnet, cornflower blue, and ivory. Five brilliantly faceted medallions are arranged in symmetrical fashion with eight partial medallions interrupted by the borders. Innovatively detailed borders amply contribute to the regal artistry through intricate stylized blossoms and majestic cartouche shapes. Though a century-and-a-half of age, this unforgettable Persian Laver Kirman carpet comes to us in extremely good floor condition. Learn About This Rug Type
