(High-Decorative)
This seldom-seen, nearly-square 19th century Laver Kirman delights with its entrancing, entirely one-of-a-kind virtuoso medallion. With four exceptionally fluid compartments, its unique centerpiece is aligned with slight but noticeable asymmetry to create an expansive cruciform medallion. Each "arm" presents shimmering garlands, elegant cypress trees, or heavily deconstructed boteh (“seed of life”) outlines. As if this abundant visual richness was not luxuriant enough, an overarching tracery creates a sinuous surround of tremendous spaciousness, flowing without pause to fill each part of astonishingly intricate cornerpieces, field, and borders. This 145-year-old carpet offers a rare square-ish shape for distinctive home decoration.
